Pat Gamboa
Pat Gamboa asked Jesus into her heart when she was a youngster in grade school. Worship and church activities have been an important part of her life ever since. She has been a supporter of community services since moving to La Junta in 1977. Pat joined La Junta First Church of the Nazarene in November, 1979, and has served on church boards under the leadership of three pastors. Pat and her husband, Evan, have been part of a committee that has brought Southern Gospel artist concerts to the church and the Arkansas Valley as an outreach of God's love. She has served on numerous committees and has been part of a number of organizations including the Wake-Up La Junta Breakfast Committee for more than 20 years. Pat enjoys volunteering with Crossroads Marketplace, AVRMC hospital auxiliary and Hospice. She has always believed in the power of prayer, especially in the last year when she and Evan learned their grandaughter would give birth to a child with caudal regression syndrome, a rare condition that often results in stillbirth. Supported by many prayer partners baby Carter was born September 2009, and is doing well. Pat and Evan have three children, eight grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
Pat believes the Arkansas Valley is a great place to live and that the Nazarene church is entering into a new and exciting phase of its ministry here in La Junta.
